LAWSON STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE STUDENT-ATHLETE RECOGNIZED NATIONALLY AS THE DIVISION I PLAYER OF THE WEEK
 
Birmingham, Alabama (February 24, 2021) The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has named Lawson State Community College sophomore guard, Vonterius Woolbright, the Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
 
Nicknamed "Mr. Consistency," the native of Thomasville, GA, garnered the attention of the NJCAA this week by continuing to average triple double statistics after first achieving a triple double performance against Coastal Alabama-East.
 
"This is the first time that a student-athlete at Lawson State has ever received this national recognition," said Coach Carlton Rice, athletic director for Lawson State Community College. "Huge congrats to Cougar Men's Head Coach Stott Carter and his staff for getting national exposure to our athletes," he continued.
